As with many hut stones this one has been formed by working its shape - in Japan worked hut stones are enjoyed for their 'wabi' qualities,
rather than their naturalness.|
This poem by Fujiware no Teika (1162-1241) captures well the feeling of wabi and a rustic hut.
As I look around
cherry blossom or crimson leaves
are not to be found -
by the rush-thatched hut along the shore
in autumn's evening dusk.
