Daiza: | Carved in Japan from rosewood, beautiful craftsmanship, its elegant design suits the stone well.
The daiza is a newer addition to this older stone, which almost certainly would have been displayed in a suiban during its earlier life as a suiseki.
Through age the daiza has shrunk slightly in its front to back dimension causing the stone not to fully sit in it at the back. Kiri Box: |
Used to store and protect the stone when not on display. Made from Paulownia wood and stained dark brown
- this box is a newer addition to the stone, possibly from around the time I acquired it.
| Comments: |
This fine quality Yojuro is quite rare and unusual in the fact that the flat landscape part of the stone
is of a dark mineral and not white, as is the usual case. | I acquired this suiseki in early 2004 and it has been in my personal collection since then. Price: |
This suiseki is now reserved for a customer.
